General Waste
What FCC Environment’s General Waste service can do for you
Whether you operate a large facility creating high volumes of waste requiring collections on a daily basis, or only generate enough waste to require a small fortnightly collection, FCC Environment’s General Waste service can offer your business suitable, efficient and cost effective ways to collect and dispose of your business waste.
What is General Waste?
General waste consists of all waste materials produced by a business which cannot be easily recycled. Common examples of this include polystyrene, hard plastics, cartons, wrappers or items soiled by other wastes.
We encourage all of our customers to recycle as much as possible, so if you have any queries about what can or can’t go in your General Waste bin, please get in touch with us so we can assist you further.
Why choose us?
FCC Environment offers tailor-made solutions to managing your business waste requirements using sustainable methods of collection and disposal. When items can’t be recycled, we can help companies to improve their green credentials by implementing strategies to achieve Zero Waste to Landfill.
Should you require it, we can use our industry experience to help you to better identify your General Waste needs, such as identifying the best suited size and number of containers, or the best frequency of collection. We can also offer you an entirely paperless service using, using electronic invoicing and duty of care notices.
Our fleet of collection vehicles surpasses the latest emissions standards, utilising clean engine technology, and all of our vehicles are fitted with 360º cameras to ensure safety when operating on or near your business premises. We also have cyclist safety systems fitted to our largest vehicles, to keep vulnerable road users as safe as possible whilst providing our services.
In addition, FCC Environment can offer its customers with fill-sensor technology installed inside their containers, meaning we know when your container does and does not require emptying. This allows us to cut down on unnecessary visits, which in turn saves your business money. It also helps to protect the environment by reducing unnecessary vehicle mileage and the associated emissions which arise from this. FCC Environment also offers its customer exciting advertising opportunities through the use of large digital advertising screens attached to the sides of our vehicles. If you would like to advertise with us on the go, then please get in touch.
What happens to my business waste after collection?
All General Waste collected by FCC Environment is eventually taken to local Energy from Waste (EfW) facilities for disposal. In these facilities, the waste is incinerated and used as a fuel to generate electricity, which is funnelled back into the National Grid, helping to power the UK.
FCC Environment does everything within its power to prevent any waste we collect going into landfill.
